The Way To Not Choose Your Anti Aging Skin Care Products

Friday, October 30th, 2009

The anti aging skin care products and cosmetics industries are huge businesses, turning over billions of dollars a year. There are lots of US women looking for solutions to looking younger and looking good, and plenty of big companies that take advantage of this.

But many mainstream anti aging skin care products just don’t work. The cosmetics and skin care industry is quite unregulated in the US, and so the big cosmetics and skin care companies can put any product on the market without first proving that it works, and even without showing that it is safe for the people who use it.

As a result there are many anti aging skin care treatments available that don’t work, and contain suspect, or known to be dangerous ingredients.

But even so there are massive numbers of skin care and anti aging products sold and advertised for their ability to make your skin look younger and you look great.

So how do you navigate through all the hype and choose a range of anti aging skin care treatments that actually work, and don’t contain dangerous ingredients?

Here’s how not to choose good anti aging products.

1. Don’t buy skin care and anti aging products with fragrances. Now we all like to smell good, and the big companies know that so use fragrances. Look younger and smell good at the same time.

Unfortunately there’s 2 problems here. First the skin care cream or other anti-aging cream that you’ve bought probably won’t do much to make you look younger.

And second, fragrances are just chemicals and not really all that good for you. It’s the same with perfumes, but you just dab a little perfume here and there, you don’t apply it to a wide area like you do with, say, a moisturizer.

2. Don’t buy anti aging skin care creams with collagen in them. Now we all know that as we age our skin loses collagen, so surely we need collagen replaced to combat the sagging and wrinkling and lines that come with skin aging?

Yes and no. Yes we need to replace that lost collagen, and no adding it to the bottles of anti-aging products like those moisturizers and day creams and night creams and so on doesn’t work. It doesn’t work because collagen molecules are too large to penetrate the skin, and so it just stays on the surface.

The only way to increase the levels of collagen in our skin is to stimulate the skin to make more collagen itself.

So why is that collagen in the bottle, and why is that big name celebrity on TV telling you how much younger they look? Because the anti aging companies know that people buy the products if they have collagen in them, so they sell lots of bottles.

Even if it’s got dangerous ingredients in it like fragrances and doesn’t do all that much it still sells fast.

That’s marketing.

Problem is, all this marketing is expensive. The good looking celebrity has to be paid, usually lots, the fancy bottles need to be purchased, and the advertising costs a bomb.

So even though that anti aging treatment doesn’t do much, other than make you smell better, it costs a bomb. And people assume if it costs that much it has to work.

And there’s lots more things to avoid when choosing a good anti-aging skin care treatment. That’s 2, for more visit my website.

So maybe you should just give up on anti-aging products because they don’t work? No. There are excellent anti-aging products that work fine, are moderately priced and use ingredients known to be safe.

But these products aren’t made by the mainstream companies you would know now. They are made by small niche skincare companies that don’t advertise on TV. Because they don’t spend megabucks on TV advertising their products are competitively priced, and that ’s also why you’ve probably never heard of these companies.

Don’t despair. I’ve shown you just some of the things to avoid when choosing anti aging skin care products, and told you there are excellent alternatives. Now it’s up to you. Find out more on my website.

Safe Teeth Whitening

Friday, September 18th, 2009

Teeth whitening techniques are quite safe providing (a) that it is done correctly, and (b), that it is done by a competent person. The most important thing is that the whitening process must not affect your teeth enamel in any way. If you were to accidentally remove any of the enamel from your teeth, it would actually have just the reverse effect to what you are trying to achieve, and your teeth would turn yellow.

The other thing that you should avoid is using a brush that has very stiff bristles. Hard bristles can actually cause damage to your gums, particularly if you use a strong brushing action. You will find that there are hundreds of teeth whitening products around, and they can all be applied with a soft toothbrush which will not only produce great results, but will do it safely without damaging your gums in any way.

When you start shopping around for a suitable teeth whitening product, you ought to check through the list of ingredients carefully to try and make sure that there are no abrasives in it. The reason is that abrasives have been known to damage teeth and/or gums, so you should try and avoid this sort of product wherever possible. Check with the store personnel or your online supplier if you are in any doubt. Most products on sale today use safe chemicals rather then abrasives, and these are the products that we recommend you use.

Safety first; that’s the key; get a brilliant white smile, but don’t take any risks with your dental health. It’s always a good idea to chat things over with your dentist; after all, he/she is your dental health expert. They may offer a teeth whitening service and if they do, it would be well worth using it to get best and safest results. Otherwise, over the counter teeth whitening gel also works great.

Teeth whitening is not something that you have to do from a medical point of view, it is purely cosmetic. It doesn’t have to be very expensive though. If your dentist doesn’t offer that service, he/she will be able to recommend you to an appropriate clinic. Getting a recommendation is the best way to choose a teeth whitening clinic because you are going on the back of someone else’s experience, and people work hard to protect a good reputation.

If you think that your dentist’s teeth whitening procedure is going to cost too much, you could always visit your nearest pharmacy and see what they have to offer. Safe teeth whitening doesn’t have to be expensive and there are many affordable over-the-counter products that you can try out. You may have to try more than one before you find the one that works best for you.

One piece of advice though. Don’t go for the cheaper products. You may well discover that some of the cheaper brands contain abrasives, and bearing in mind what we advised earlier, give these a miss. Instead you should look for the products that contain safe teeth whitening chemicals. Using this sort of product will not only get you the best results, but it will also be your safest option; and even if you have to pay a little extra, it’s well worth it to guarantee a safe result.

Your teeth are vitally important to you, and, well looked after, they will last you your lifetime. Keep you dental hygiene in tip-top condition by having regular check-ups with your dentist. Whitening your teeth, whilst not essential, can only improve dental hygiene, and it will give you the confidence to have a brilliant, bright smile.

You can get really white teeth cheaply. If you want, check out the best tooth whitener of the best tooth whitening products that I found. Items such as this have a low teeth whitening price can work as well as pro dental whitening at the dentist’s office and it’s also safe.

Oh My God! Do Eyelashes Grow Back?

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

If you have sparse eyelashes, even the loss of one lash may send you into a panic. Generally, lash hairs randomly fall off and are replaced by new ones without our even noticing it. However, in some people, their eyelash regrowth cycle is slower than normal which makes it look like they have less lashes.

In a healthy person, eyelashes go from it’s dormant state to actively growing in about two months. This means that most lashes are at most 8 weeks old.

Like other hairs on your body, your eyelashes can fall out if they are damaged or shocked. Eyelashes can fall out due to alopecia, chemotherapy, or hypothyroidism. Some people end up pulling their lashes out with eyelash curlers, false lash adhesives, and obsessive compulsive pulling.

Whether your eyelashes will grow back depends on what caused them to start falling out. Your body will also need the proper nutrients to stimulate lash regrowth.

If your lashes were lost due to illness, then they won’t grow back until the underlying disease is cured. In such cases, eyelashes usually start growing back as soon as your body is healthy again.

If your eyelashes started falling out due to physical damage from lash extension glue or pulling, then your lashes will start growing back as soon as the follicle begins a new growth cycle. To speed up this process, you can use an eyelash grower for faster results.

An eyelash grower stimulates the hair follicles and extends the hair’s growth cycle. These eyelash growth products make eyelashes grow faster for a longer time.

If you choose an eyelash stimulator such as LiLash you’ll also get the vitamins and minerals needed for healthy hair growth. Lilash conditions and protects your eyelashes so you’ll notice longer looking lashes in just weeks not months.

Use LiLash twice a day, to get double the effects in half the time. LiLash is formulated with mild ingredients so even people with sensitive eyes can achieve luscious looking lashes.

Choosing The Best Cosmetics For Your Skin

Monday, July 27th, 2009

Oh, how we loved finger-painting when we were children. Luckily for us women, we can still play with paints, only now we use lovely brushes and we call our paints cosmetics.

First, learn your skin type - normal, oily, dry or combination - and its characteristics. Skin is composed of a combination of proteins, collagen and elastins, so the first step in skin care is to eat a healthy diet and get plenty of exercise. If this seems a little like biology class, you’re right! Skin is the largest organ in our bodies, and the skin on our faces can be especially vulnerable. So we have to learn how to treat it right.

Speaking of intelligence, you can improve your cosmetics confidences by taking good care of your skin. It’s the largest organ of our bodies and serves important purposes to keep our internal workings inside us, and to protect us from outside hazards such as bacteria. So it deserves our best attention.

Start by learning your skin type - normal, dry, oily or combination. Then set up a daily routine of cleansing, toning and moisturizing your skin. It may seem like a lot of work, but it actually only takes five minutes twice a day. Do this routine faithfully twice a day and there will a healthy “canvas” for your cosmetic art.

Then comes the part that always makes women a little nervous: selecting the right shade of foundation to wear. Somehow those shades that can look so beautiful in the bottle in the store just don’t match well when we use them. Ever wonder why? Chalk it up to two things.

Selecting the right shade of foundation makes most women, even experienced cosmetics buyers, anxious. That’s because shades can vary from brand to brand, and skin tone changes, depending on how much sun you’ve hand lately and whether you’re in good health.

Many beauty consultants advise women to choose cosmetics that complement with your tone and hair color. Fair-skinned blondes look good in neutrals and pastels, while “California girls” with their sun-bleached hair and deep tans can go for deeper tones. Dark-haired women with fair skin can look terrific in dramatic cosmetics (think Catherine Zeta-Jones, for instance). Women with dark skin and hair are stunning when they use cosmetics to bring out highlights.

Remember what we said at the start about learning some medical facts for choosing cosmetics? Here’s a little more: Buy the best cosmetics you can afford. Why? Because in most cases, cheaper cosmetics can contain chemicals that are bad, bad, bad for your skin! Even higher price doesn’t necessarily mean good quality, so read the labels. Watch for such things as fragrance, chemical colorings and the like. Most good-to-best quality cosmetics don’t use such things, but always check to make sure.

Finally, when choosing cosmetics, it’s always a good idea to have a friend along. For one thing, selecting cosmetics or getting a quick makeover at the counter is fun! For another, it’s good to get a “second opinion” on whatever the beauty consultant may offer you, or something that may be enticing. After all, you want your cosmetics to enhance your natural beauty, not turn you into a nightmare.

Essential Anti Acne Skin Care Medications And Careering Tips

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

Acne can really be a problem for a lot of people, it affects so many of us and can continuously fight back in repeat breakouts to the annoyance of the subject. Treating the acne is naturally a real concern for many people.

The use of just a few tips to improve your acne skin care routine can make all the difference. Very often you only have to make a few adjustments here and there to the way you care for your skin in order to get results you desire.

One very important thing to note is that you must be gentle with your skin, it is all too common for people when they have acne to start scrubbing their face and generally being hard on their skin.

More oil on your face is a problem because of the way acne or pimples are formed. You see pimples are created when oil, bacteria and dirt start to collect in the pores of your skin, so more oil is definitely not desired.

The thing is though just maintaining clean skin is not enough as we are always going to have some oil and dirt on our faces and what actually causes pimples to form ultimately is the layer of skin that forms over the dirty pores.

Removing the dead skin from your face every few days or at the very least twice a week is a very important step to ridding yourself of acne, since this prevents your dirty pores from getting covered up and forming pimples.

Like everything this can be overdone resulting in possibly dryer skin or leaving your skin raw and more exposed to the elements, so caution is necessary, nevertheless exfoliating is important and so should be done.

When you need to treat a breakout of acne, acne skin care products can do a good job as the majority of them will clean up your skin removing the dirt and bacteria and also dry up a lot of the oil on your face.

You must remember however that anti-acne skin care products normally are not for prevention and instead only work when treating the pimples already on your face. Also you should avoid using these products on areas of your face that are not covered in pimples as these products tend to be very strong.

Sensitive areas like your neck and cheats, if without pimples, would probably end up dry and or red and irritated if you were to apply such products on them.

You should be able to enjoy healthier skin by applying what you have learnt in this article as long as you do it on a continuous basis. Just remember that anti-acne skin care is only for treating acne and should not be used on other acne free areas of your skin.

Baby eczema

Monday, April 13th, 2009

Co-published by: Acid Chemical Peel. Many parents worry about baby eczema. This condition appears on the face, upper chest, scalp and neck in the first months of life.

Later on it may appear on the forearms and shins. Many factors related to baby eczema require great care and attention. Watch out for blisters that could break or leak and for extensive skin dryness. If the baby’s condition is really serious, it may involve the whole skin. Generally speaking such manifestations do not involve the area around the mouth, the nose or the diaper areas that are usually free of eczema. If the areas of skin on the forearms and shins are thickened between the ages of twelve and eighteen months, parents should not be worried since this happens due to babies’ crawling a lot.

The symptoms common to eczema, dermatitis and to baby eczema implicitly include skin scaling, inflammation and reddening of the dermis and even cracking. Even if eczema may appear almost anywhere on the body, the scalp, the chest, the forehead and the joints are the predisposed areas for the development of baby eczema. In very severe cases, baby eczema can become extremely itchy and irritating for the baby and it can even disturb their sleep. Lots of babies suffer from atopic eczema which is usually hereditary. This condition tends to occur and develop somewhere around the age of two or three months. Atopic eczema results from an oversensitivity of the immune system with reactions of the sufferers to environmental aspects that normally do not elicit an immune response.

Whether babies develop eczema because other members of the family suffer from atopic conditions such as asthma, hay fever or eczema it is still not very clear and certain. Another possibility when infants develop baby eczema results from the prolonged exposure to a specific allergen.

The treatment of baby eczema shares specificity with that for allergies; yet, there is not just a single all-valid remedy, and doctors usually prescribe more complex combined treatments. Fortunately several therapeutic solutions have been developed and they can help improve the suffering babies’ conditions significantly. These remedies for baby eczema include moisturizing, careful bath times, avoiding detergents, using cotton clothes, being careful about the babies’ diets, and keeping pets away. Besides, parents should make sure they keep the baby’s environments dust free, as well as minimize scratching through cutting the baby’s nails short.

Eczena and psoriasis

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

Sent by: Face Moisturizing. Although eczema and psoriasis represent distinct health problems, they are often mistaken for each other and referred to in the form of eczema psoriasis. If we were to discuss disease specificity, a single patient cannot suffer from these two diseases at the same time. Yet, this is not a rule of the thumb and it may happen that people come to suffer from some mixed ailment that resembles the two. The complexity of the ailment automatically makes treatment choice much more difficult; that is why patients should definitely go to a doctor in order to receive a prescription and recommendation as to what to take against their problem.

Eczema psoriasis is a phrase that people use to refer to their strange condition which most of the times is eczema in itself. Treatment has not been extremely efficient and even though various creams or lotions have appeared on the market saying they will work wonders on the patient’s skin, it has been noticed that effect varies from one individual to another.

However, an Australian, an eczema patient himself, has come up with a cream that seems to work wonders. This ointment brings along a great deal of relief for eczema psoriasis sufferers.

The name of the cream is Calendulis Plus and has literally become worldwide known since the producer first started to advertise it, which proves how many people suffer from this condition and are desperate about finding a cure.

It is natural for parents with kids diagnosed with eczema psoriasis to try all remedies in search of a real cure. People who had initially been very skeptical about the effects of this cream wrote testimonials about its effects showing how their skepticism shattered once they relied on this natural product developed in Australia.

It is not certainly known whether the cream definitely cures the patient, but it can be noticed how the eczema psoriasis gets under control literally over night making the itch and the scaly spots go away.

What makes this cream special as compared to others is that it is a combination of various natural plants and substances such as manuka honey, propolis, emu oil, calendula and centella asiatica. The soothing effect of the product will become apparent within a few minutes after usage. The possibility to use natural remedies instead of chemical treatments for eczema psoriasis could be a great approach to the disease. We might as well go back to that and trust the garden of God, even for treating eczema psoriasis.

Cure eczema

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

Co-author: Acid Chemical Peel. Many people worldwide suffer from eczema without being able to cure the condition for good.

The symptoms generally include itching and burning, skin redness, dryness and inflammation. If it is not hereditary, the real cause of eczema would remain a mystery, as doctors cannot tell what exactly triggers it. On the other hand there are a lot of factors which help develop and aggravate the already existing problem. It is known that the occurrence of this condition is mainly connected to the overactive response of the immune system to a bacterium which lives on the skin or to an irritant element in the surrounding environment.

When you try to cure eczema there are a few things you can do to alleviate symptoms and prevent outbreaks: don’t get yourself exposed to dust, coarse rough materials in clothes, house cleaning products or pets.

Colds, upper respiratory infections and colds could be really troublesome and hindering for the efforts to cure eczema.

In the attempt to cure eczema you should also establish the typology of the condition so that the treatment is accurate. Specialists thus classify eczema into categories according to common and less-common occurrence rate. No matter the type of eczema, the diagnosis should be passed by a specialist. Anyway, eczema is not a contagious disease and there are many things you can do and many products on the market that you can use to cure or keep it under control.

Now, here are a few simple steps you can take to either cure eczema or avoid developing it. Stay away from lotions or cosmetics that have fragrances that can irritate the skin; avoid exposing the skin to household detergents and all sorts of chemicals that could irritate the skin. In the process to cure eczema it is also important to be careful about the kind of clothes you wear, and cotton makes the best choice possible.

It is also very important to create an environment that is stress free, to avoid rapid dramatic changes of temperature and activities that make you sweat. Refrain from scratching or you’ll deteriorate your condition even more. Use special medicine topical products to alleviate the itchiness instead of rubbing the skin to soothe the itch.

My excessive sweating story and how I cured it

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

Excessive sweating causes and treatments.

If you have never had to deal with excessive sweating it may be hard to understand how embarrassing and awkward it can be. In my case, I found it difficult to function in normal everyday situations without feeling self-conscious about it.

A situation that causes someone who suffers from hyperhidrosis to be close to others will find themselves feeling even more anxiety because of this disorder. Excessive sweating has been known to make personal as well as social settings more challenging.

I do however have some good news for you. There is an excessive sweating cure! You don’t have to live with hyperhidrosis any longer.

There are many methods for treating hyperhidrosis. And of course it is always good to try natural treatments first. While some doctors may prescribe high strength antiperspirants others may recommend surgery to remove the overactive sweat glands.

The problem with prescription strength antiperspirants is the link between such diseases as breast cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. Aluminum chloride, the ingredient found in most of these products, is used to clog the pores and keep the sweat glands from producing as much sweat.

One of the main functions of our skin (our largest organ) is to protect the internal organs as well as the lymphatic system from being disrupted by chemicals that may be absorbed through normal everyday applications. Aluminum chloride can cause the body to function in a way that nature never intended it to.

A high strength antiperspirant will not totally prevent your excessive sweating. It is not a cure and my simply mask to some degree the amount of sweat you produce.

Another alternative a doctor may recommend is a type of surgery called Endoscopic Thoracic Sympathectomy. This is extremely expensive and most insurance companies will not cover this type of surgery. And even it is not a total cure and after surgery patients can experience compensatory sweating.

This simply means that the sweating that was eliminated from one area of the body now causes other parts of the body to sweat much more than normal.

The good news is you don’t have to live like this any longer!

I know exactly how you feel. I worry about the way I look too. This has been something I have dealt with for over 10 years now. It can be so bothersome that utter desperation may set in while searching for a solution.

Don’t live with the feelings of awkwardness and embarrassment any longer. Visit my blog for a detailed look into the life of a former hyperhidrosis sufferer.

Eczema cures

Saturday, April 11th, 2009

Get more from: Body Moisturizing. Dermatitis or eczema refers to a skin condition that could make one’s life a living hell by the discomfort it produces. With some patients the responsiveness to the treatment is pretty reduced, which is why the alleviation of the symptoms is a tough battle to fight.

The primary goal of the treatment of eczema is to prevent and relieve itching, as scratching can surely lead to infections, which are harder to cure. As this condition’s main symptom is dryness and redness of the skin, eczema cures include as their main part, lotions and creams/ointments meant to moisturize the skin.

It is better to apply these solutions when the skin is damp, that is after taking baths or showers; thus the moisture retention will be better. Pay attention not to rub and scrub the skin with the towel after washing, but better to pat i. Cold compresses are also useful in relieving itching.

Many eczema cures such as ointments and creams can be bought as over-the-counter medication without requiring any form of prescription. These usually contain corticosteroids like hydrocortisone and their role is also to reduce inflammation.

In cases of severe eczema, oral corticosteroids are prescribed and sometimes even antibiotics will be necessary to kill bacteria which cause infections.

Among the very effective eczema cures one that is usually prescribed for reducing itching is represented by antihistamines. Other treatments include tar products, photo-therapy or the administration of a drug called cyclosporine.

In the realm of eczema cures we should also mention approved topical immuno-modulators (TIMs) which are used in the treatment of more serious eczema cases. Skin creams like Protopic and Elidel can be applied to affected areas of skin to alter the immune system’s response and prevent flare-ups. However, according to FDA warnings, these two eczema cures have to be administered very carefully because of the health risks and side effects they pose.

Home treatments represent an important part of eczema cures. Self-care at home involves some advice and rules of conduct that will help prevent the occurence and development of the condition. Thus, you need to be careful about the kind of clothes you wear (cotton is best), take warm not hot showers better than baths, remove whatever substances and home cleaning products that could cause allergies or irritations of the skin, and maintain your environment as dust-free as possible.
