By directing the ball via the middle or top of the ball, you will be able to place it exactly where you want it to go and stay ahead of the defender.

Trapping is also a necessary skill. You are going to need to use this skill when the ball is coming at you with a pace that will be difficult to control upon first touch. Learning this skill will enable you to stop the ball and get in under control very quickly so you can make your next move.

When using your foot to trap, you need to get your body square to the path of the flight of the ball. You will absorb the ball with your foot by recessing it slightly in order to slow down the speed of the ball and get it under control. You can now get the ball settled and make your next move.

You are also going to have times when the ball flight is too high in relation to your body position and will have to use your head and torso to get the ball under control. You will want to practice arching your back and using your torso as a landing pad for the ball and then direct it back down to the ground. You can do this by flexing your knees to control the impact and then lead your upper body forward and use your forehead to control the flight of the ball downward. You can now get it under control with your feet and move into a scoring position downfield or make the next pass.

There are two methodologies within the Six Sigma structure, DMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improve, and control) and DMADV (define, measure, analyze, design, and verify). These processes do a lot of similar things but their differences mean they can’t be switched.

Both of the methodologies are used to decrease the number of defects to 3.4 for every one million opportunities. In order to achieve this, both methodologies use facts and statistical tools for finding solutions to common problems, problems which are always related to quality. Finally, the methodologies are similar in that they both focus on increasing the objectives of an organization, both financially and in business.

These two processes are dissimilar in some ways. DMAIC helps to enhance the procedures already in place and looks to see the way they are applicable in the worksite. Also, DMAIC then looks to improve the business processes with the goal of reducing or eliminating the defects. DMADV, in it’s approach, starts with differentiating the requirements of the customer and how that impacts a service or product. It then creates criterion for the business to assist in moving toward meeting customer requests.

Evident in the differences are that DMAIC is useful for work on an existing product or service that is not meeting the customers goal. Whereas DMADV, is set in to motion for development of new products to meet the satisfaction of the customer.

There are levels of assistance available in the way of Black Belts and Master Black Belts for a company with no Six Sigma expertise. The choice of DMAIC or DMADV would be up to them after they reviewed the issues. They’re strength would be in team assistance in starting Six Sigma.

Occasionally we get a request for an exotic like baby elephant or a chimpanzee. That our healing work has helped is regularly borne out by the e-mails from grateful owners.

The measure of effectiveness of distance healing is not the same as medical healing. We are not doctors. We cannot heal broken bones for example. What psychic healing can do however is provide an optimum condition in which the healing takes place. A good psychic healer can provide a calming effect on the animal along with the easing of pain and suffering. The healer will also provide additional energy to help speed up the recovery process.

We do get reports of a miraculous recovery or a completely unexpected turnaround of a pet’s condition; whether these are real or fancied, I can’t say and I certainly would not take any credit for them. In the years I’ve been doing distance healing work, I have grown to know that I’m just a small scene in a vast scenario.

Among the volunteers with the Healapet Network are practitioners of numerous healing modalities. These include prayers, spiritual healers, Reiki practitioners and psychic healers. I’m a Reiki Master certified in the mid 1990’s, but I still practice the Seventh Sense psychic method originated by B. Bibb in the 1960’s. The seventh sense refers to the telepathic communication used to establish contact with the subject. I much prefer this method as it is simple and does not use symbols, secret words or mantras.

This is not to denigrate Reiki, prayer, spiritual or any other distance healing method. Far from it. Whatever works is my motto.

For those who are unfamiliar with distance healing, also known as remote healing, at least two questions immediately spring to mind.

It is not possible in an article of this length to give full answers to those questions, but here are my own Readers Digest versions.

Distance healing can best be described as the transmission of healing energy and thoughts from the healer to the subject over any distance, be it short or long makes no difference.

How is it accomplished? This depends upon you, the practitioner. If you use the power of prayer, then you are asking the Almighty to intercede of behalf of the subject. A Reiki practitioner, very basically, uses a synergistic system of self-guided meditation, symbols and mantras to channel the Life Force Energy to the subject.

Some night when you are lying awake you may become aware of a dog barking in the distance, not an excited bark, but more of a salutation to the world in general. Go to your alpha level, also known as your day-dreaming state, and form a mental picture of the dog.

In your mind’s eye, start gently petting the dog, stroking from its head to its shoulders, perhaps mentally assuring him it’s okay, he’s not alone, etc. Quite often you’ll find the dog stops barking, sometimes with a rising inflection in the last bark. Congratulations, you’ve made contact!
